ABOUT ME
Ceda Xiong is a writer of female characters who are much funnier than she is. She is obsessed with getting it right, in whatever she’s writing, probably because as a Chinese kid in the middle of Tennessee, she was always getting it wrong. From food writing to music journalism, she has bylines at McSweeneys, Timeout Chicago, and Venus Zine. After touring as a stand-up comic in the Midwest, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked on the family drama Queen Sugar, millennial comedy Harlem, and the procedural All Rise. She was recently a writer on Maggie, an 20th/Hulu comedy. In addition to her television work, she was a Second Rounder at Austin Film Festival, a semi-finalist of Imagine Impact as well as the Film Independent Episodic Lab, and in 2021 she was chosen as the Disney/ABC General Entertainment Fellow. Currently, she’s developing an original one-hour scripted drama with Kyra Sedgwick’s company and writing on Blade Runner: Origins. She’s also mom to three-year old, Leonardo, and is constantly the butt of jokes to her Mexican in-laws.
